Just Weight – Jan. 16 - Week #3 – Day #2 (Day 16 of 365 - lost .4 today) Total loss 6.6 lbs, 45.4 to go!


I went ahead and weighed this morning before beginning this four day trip. It’s always hard to compare if you don’t weigh on the same scale since they all vary. I lost .4 pounds yesterday (applause please) and won’t be weighing again until Saturday morning when I will be home. Just Make It Through the Day is my catch phrase for today. I need to mark this in my memory and remind myself each day throughout this trip to take it one day at a time. Did great. Ate breakfast and lunch at home, took a South Beach protein bar to eat in the car with a bottle of water, and although I did not get my printed menu of chicken, salad and garlic bread, I did substitute the meat and vegetables. As I was eating out tonight, I left off the garlic bread and dessert. Having brought along apples and bottled water from home, that was my evening snack and I think I did very well today.

Just Weight – Jan. 15 - Week #3 – Day #1 (Day 15 of 365 - lost .2 lbs) - (LOST 6.2, 45.8 to go)


Yes, yes, yes! I lost 2.2 pounds last week for a total loss of 6.2. That makes me ahead of my one pound a week goal by 4.2 pounds. Now, I simply can’t let that go to my head or I’ll be sliding down this hill backward. So Count Your Blessings. I had a most soul nourishing, fabulous, relaxing massage this morning that made any sacrifice completely worth it. This is, however going to be a challenging week for me as I am travelling again for the next four days. I am taking my just Weight food binder with me, of course, and will do as much advanced planning as possible. I know of one luncheon and one dinner that I will just have to work around, but I’m feeling strong and confident. I had my pizza fix today with one piece and a salad so I am good to go.

Just Weight – Jan. 14 - Week #2 – Day #7, (Day 14 of 365 - same weight) Total loss 6.0 lbs, 46 to go!


I know I indicate a specific amount of salad dressing on the menu plans, but I have discovered “Spritz” dressings in a pump bottle. Okay, so you may have known about these dandy little convenient dressings for a long time, but they are new to me and will be permanent in my refrigerator. The calories are very low and about 10 spritzes (is that a word) is just perfect. On today’s spinach salad, I used a raspberry spritz. Yes, I did have chicken for dinner since I switched with the steak last night. I had strawberries rather than cantaloupe at breakfast because they were so perfect in the store. It’s Your Choice seems the perfect “wisdom” for today and every day because every single day it most certainly is our choice as to what we put in our mouth. This ends week #2. I can’t wait to get on the scale in the morning and see if I truly made “good” choices. I’ll let you know.

I am one of those people that always start a weight loss plan on Monday. It seems to make sense at the time, but this is the weekend and we had a steak dinner tonight at a function. If I had let it, I could have easily sabotaged the whole week’s loss tonight. My menu clearly said chicken with a “C”, but I knew I had no control over the dinner. A little advance planning was a good idea. At the first of each week, I check my calendar to see what meals I really can’t control “food wise”. I can always control what and how much I eat. So, this week I switched today’s menu with tomorrow’s menu (which is beef and potatoes for dinner) and will have the chicken dinner tomorrow night instead. Now see, that was not so hard and fits right in with today’s message of Be Honest About Your Eating Habits.

I actually weighed the same today as yesterday, which was quite a surprise to me. I think it was the fast food burger that just made me feel I would gain. I know each day is not what we are looking at as our weight can change based on water retention, activity, or the location of the moon, for heaven’s sake! Anyway, I was pleased to get out yesterday and glad it is raining. Problem here is that rain makes me want to bake! Let’s see, that “wisdom” for the day is Exercise. Hmmmmm!

Just Weight – Jan. 11 - Week #2, Day #4, (Day 11 of 365 - lost 1.2) Total loss 5.8, 46.2 to go)


Stick To Your Grocery List - Woo-hoo. Lost 1.2 yesterday. That put me over my first 5 pound hurdle and I booked that massage! Showered, dressed (which always includes makeup for me), and had my grocery shopping done and put away by 9:30. I don’t know why I don’t do that every day as it makes me feel I have the world by the tail and am ready to face anything. I have decided to do my grocery shopping on Monday’s and Thursdays. I find the list is small so it does not take long, and that the fruit and vegetables I need stay fresh until the next trip. By sticking strictly to my list, I am wasting less food and saving money and that is one of the big goals here.

Just Weight – Jan. 10 - Week #2, Day #3, (Day 10 of 365 – lost .2) Total loss 4.6, 47.4 to go)


Woke up with a sore throat this morning so I was very glad today’s menu was simple. Fixed my cheese toast, ate my soup, and nothing simpler than baked fish and salad from a bag. Don’t know if it was the throat or food plan, but I didn’t get hungry all day. Set Rewards for Yourself. This should be fun. You might think I would choose a closet full of new, smaller, clothes. Maybe a few, but mostly I just want to look fabulous in the clothes I have, although most have been hanging so long waiting for the day I can get back into them, that they are no longer stylish at all. Today, I am setting 5 pound rewards. That’s it. Just a reward. I will decide at each 5 pound loss what it will be. The first will definitely be a massage, and I just have .4 pounds to go! I’m feeling it already.
